Amuz Gourmet Restaurant in Jakarta
Fine Parisian Restaurant in the City Centre0
Amuz Gourmet is one of Jakarta’s few fine dining restaurants where you can step into a main dining hall and find a chic Parisian ambiance. Romantic interiors and setups complement great selections of French dishes prepared by a culinary team from an open kitchen, led by well-seasoned chef and restaurant founder Gilles Marx. Chef Gilles and his brigade present innovative takes on French dishes, highlighting rich flavours and use of fresh ingredients.
Amuz Gourmet is well positioned away from the city’s busy scenes, tucked up in a corner on the second floor of the Energy Building of the Sudirman Central Business District. The restaurant’s main dining room has tables neatly arranged around a glossy parquet floor and with an elaborate criss-cross motif ceiling overhead. The décor comprises Eiffel Tower-inspired ironwork and chandeliers, while walls are adorned with original expressionistic paintings by renowned late Indonesian artists, the likes of Hendra and Affandi.Read More

While the menus are ever changing at Amuz, recent dinner offerings include a holiday season four-course set menu at IDR 500,000 net per person. This starts with a choux pastry amuse bouche, followed by escargots with warm soft-poached egg, sautéed mushrooms and shallots and crispy beef bacon and red wine sauce. Mains include grilled marinated Tokusen Wagyu flank steak and duck prepared in two ways, which go very well with a quench of apple compote and cranberry jus. A sinful treat of Valrhona with fresh cherries, red wine jelly and chocolate Chantilly closes the dinner perfectly.
Amuz is also a great spot to head to for lunch, with options that include a two-course experience at IDR 250,000 or a fancier four-course lunch at IDR 350,000. Highlights include grilled marinated king prawn with sweet beetroot and endive salad, doused in tangy orange zest vinaigrette, and crispy roast duck leg confit served with sautéed potatoes, petite salad and natural jus. For a high-end spot in town to host a company of more than two, Amuz also has a private dining room that can seat up to 10 for a gathering feast over fine French dishes.
